Biomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Group, one of the main research groups in Stem Cell Technology Company has been established from the very beginning. The main objectives and tasks of this group include various and worldwide research projects in biomaterials field. At the present time, experts of various engineering fields, esp. Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Textile Engineering have close interaction and cooperation with other research groups in Stem Cell Technology Company.
The main focus of this group is designing and manufacturing special biomaterials for various medical applications. However the main core of the group is designing and manufacturing two and three dimensional engineering scaffolds for various tissue engineering applications. To achieve this, this research group attempts to produce scaffolds with defined and special physical, chemical, biological and morphological properties making use of various materials, equipments, processing methods, and high technologies especially nanotechnology.
Having different well-equipped laboratories and workshops, this research group performs various activities in designing, processing, modification, and characterization of biomaterials for medical applications. The main laboratories and workshops of this research group includes General lab, Surface Modification lab, Nanotechnology lab, Biomaterials lab, Scaffolding lab, and Controlled Delivery Systems lab as well as Nanotechnology and Polymerization workshops.

1. Design and Fabrication of a Rapid Prototyping Technology known as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) for Producing Well-defined Three-dimensional Scaffolds

2. Vascular Tissue Engineering: Differentiation and Proliferation of Satellite Cells and Endothelial Cells on Tubular and Nano-Structural Small-Diameter Hybrid Scaffolds

3. Nerve Tissue Engineering using Completely Aligned Nanofibrous Scaffolds

4. Bone Tissue Engineering: Differentiation and Proliferation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Nanofibrous Polymeric Porous Scaffolds Prepared by Electrospinning Method

5. Skin Tissue Engineering on Animal Models: Combination of Nano-structural Biocompatible Matrices and Keratinocytes

6. Design and Fabrication of Lab-scaled, Pilot-scaled and Industrial Electrospinning Systems with Automatic Control to Produce Nanofibrous Structures

7. Synthesis of High Molecular Weight Poly(L-lactide) using Melt-Bulk Polymerization Method
